Support for Mission Siret knows no age limits. Although the day-to-day operations are largely in the hands of young adults, the network of supporters sometimes extends all the way to a 90-year-old celebrant: Dr. Gisbert Kley recently marked his milestone birthday in Lippstadt.
Deeply impressed by the commitment of his grandchildren to Mission Siret, he asked the guests at his family celebration to make donations for the humanitarian work instead of bringing presents. Following the festivities, he was able to transfer around €4,000 collected in a lovingly decorated donation box.
With his contribution, Dr. Kley represents many other people who use birthdays and anniversaries as an opportunity to draw attention to the plight of the Ukrainian civilian population and to support the work of Mission Siret.
