Ecumenical Cooperation in Romania

As a sign of ecumenical solidarity, the President of the German Association of the Order of Malta, Ernst v. Freyberg, visited our base camp in Siret. Ann-Kathrin Kramer from the operations team and our on-site manager, Ana-Maria Maidaniuc, showed him around the warehouse and explained the logistical processes. Ernst v. Freyberg was impressed by the volume of donations that Mission Siret delivers to Ukraine every day and praised the uninterrupted commitment of our volunteers over the past four years.

The occasion for his visit was the 20th anniversary of the Order of Malta’s summer camps in Romania. For the past three years, the holiday camps for people with disabilities have taken place in the Suceava region, very close to Siret. The organisers are able to draw on Mission Siret’s network of regional contacts.
