Every day, our volunteers move heavy loads in the warehouse in Siret – whether unloading arriving trucks, sorting donations or preparing relief supplies for distribution.
When loading vehicles for their daily trips to Ukraine, volunteers have to move pallets weighing up to 700 kilograms. Alongside our forklift, manually operated pallet trucks are therefore essential pieces of equipment.
However, after months and years of daily use, one of these pallet trucks had become defective and could no longer lift loads properly. This made the work much more difficult and required considerable physical effort from our volunteers.
After experiencing these difficulties first-hand during his stay in Siret, our volunteer Jens Treutwein did not hesitate to step in and fund two new pallet trucks for Mission Siret. Both have now been in use in the warehouse for several weeks and have become indispensable to the team's daily work.
