The “Christmas parcels” team had been working towards this day for weeks: the big collection campaign at our central warehouse in Enger. Team leader Christoph Hartmann had been checking arrival times, recording quantities and preparing for the collection at the warehouse together with “Mission Siret” logistics expert Joachim Ebmeyer for some time. On Saturday, the time had come: cars, minibuses and vans arrived from all over Germany, all filled to the brim with parcels.

The lovingly wrapped gifts for Ukrainian boys and girls came from kindergartens, schools, parishes, Subkommenden and JHG or had been put together at joint evenings of our volunteers.
In Enger, a team of volunteers helped unload the cars, sorted the parcels by age group and stacked them on pallets. But as the afternoon progressed, it became clear that the number of parcels exceeded expectations. And so volunteers were once again sought via social media to support the work on site. When the warehouse gates closed in the evening, all the parcels were ready for transportation to Siret: the articulated lorry will set off for Siret on Wednesday.
